Abstract
The stability of wall rock mass and the efficiency of water-sealed system are two critical problems relating to if the underground water-sealed oil storage cavern can work normally. Based on an introduction of the concept of excavation damage zone and relevant research results, the paper propose when analysis the stability of the wall rock mass in underground water-sealed oil storage cavern, we should focus on the damage evolution status and the deformation fracture model during large cross-section excavation, consider the mechanical characteristics and permeability characteristic of excavation damage zone, then gain the quantitative evaluation index of the wall rock stability. Targeting the effectiveness of the water-sealed system, propose the failure cause of artificial water curtain, water pressure control and recommendations on improvement of the water-sealed system.
