Skeletal System Morphophysiology

Abstract The skeleton possesses a hierarchical structure that, in conjunction with the cells that reside within it, enables it to carry out its biological functions. Herein is an introduction to the functions of the zebrafish skeleton, and a survey of the hierarchical structure of the adult zebrafish skeleton, starting from the nanoscale (molecules), and ending with the macroscale (bone as an organ).
