Abstract
Aimed at the problem of harmonic distortion of the electric load simulator, it is pointed out that gear backlash is one of the main factors which influence the output moment of the electrical load simulator. A mathematical model of the load simulator with deadband, which is verified by the comparison of simulation curve and experimental curve, is established to indicate the mechanism of harmonic distortion. To eliminate the distortion, a compensation method is presented and proved effectively through simulation in this paper.
