Specific Interaction Of Human Alpha-Fetoprotein And Ccr5
FIFTH EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON EXPERIMENTAL AIDS RESEARCH (ECEAR 2000)(2000)
Abstract
Human alpha -fetoprotein (AFP) specifically interacts with human primary macrophages and competes with HIV-1 gp120 V3Cs binding to these cells. Different anti-CCRS Mab or polyclonal Ab partially inhibited AFP binding to the MDM. Native AFP, MTP-I beta or RANTES, but not their heat-denaturated counterparts or native SDF-1 alpha, specifically interacted with an electroblotted V3Cs-bound membrane-ligand, CCR5. This indicate that AFP inhibitory effect on infection of MDM by R5 HIV-1 strains previously reported by some of us (Seddiki et aL.1997) is related with AFP interaction with CCRS.
