Assessment Of Network Performance Measurements In A Private Data Wan Network

This project focuses on the assessment of network quality performance parameters for a private data network which can be made up of either individual private lines or more modern technology such as IP/VPN. It is very difficult to provide point-to-point real-time monitoring information due to the variety of network infrastructures and traffic used on these networks. Typical parameters measured include packet loss, delay load etc. which can be difficult to interpret in terms of excellent, good, average and bad. Moreover, the performance assessment of customers can be based on the subjective perception of quality which is a less objective assessment than one based on comprehensive and quantized methods. This paper proposed a comprehensive multiple indexes assessment method based on D-S evidence theory using private line test data to verb the viability of this method. The verification result shows that this method can offer correct and reliable assessment results.
