Experimental Study On The Swirl Nozzle Spray Angle

Four structure kinds of swirl nozzle has been designed to study the spray angle under different conditions. The spray angel characteristics of Han-based liquid propellant simulated media under different spray pressure and media viscosity have been tested by using of high-speed camera system. The results indicate that: the spray angle increases with the increases of the spray pressure for the designed four kinds of swirl nozzle; as to the swirl nozzle with two swirl slots, the spray angle increases first and then decreases with the increases of the liquid viscosity, but for the swirl nozzle with four swirl slots, the spray angle decreases linearly with the increases of the liquid viscosity.
