Reproduction Success Of Asp Leuciscus Aspius (Linnaeus, 1758) In Czech Riverine System

The long-term study of juvenile 0+ asp abundance was conducted during a five year period across the river network of the Czech Republic. The "young of the year" (YOY) assemblage sampling procedure was conducted with the help of electrofishing. The abundance of juvenile asp Leuciscus aspius (Linnaeus, 1758) was demonstrated in lower parts of several large rivers of the Czech Republic. Juveniles were present predominantly in lower altitudes of a stream and confirmed ongoing successful reproduction of this piscivorous cyprinid species in Czech rivers.
