Research On Velocity Measuring System In The Electromagnetic Launching Experiment

EM launching experimental system is an effective way to investigate the EM launching process of EM launching weapons, which can verify the accuracy of the theoretical analysis and simulation research and provide foundation for design and improvement of the EM launching weapon. Velocity measuring system of the interception projectile is studied in this paper The position and the time when the projectile passing is recorded through measurement devices consisted of PLC, two photoelectric sensors. Then velocity of the projectile can be calculated through the data achieved The devices designed have many advantages such as simple structure, high precision and can be used to measure high velocity. With the devices produced experiment of the EM launcher with pancake coil is carried out and velocity of the interception projectile is obtained, which provides support for theoretical analysis.
