A Data Dissemination Scheme For Vehicular Networks Based On Rateless Codes

Car-to-car communications are currently under intense research in vehicular networks as they enable a wide variety of applications. Overcoming problems associated with unreliable channels has been a challenge in this environment. In this paper, we present a novel data dissemination scheme based on rateless codes that can efficiently address a reliable communication. By means of simulation results obtained for the proposed data dissemination scheme, the bit error rate (BER) and symbol error rate (SER) performances are provided both in Rayleigh and Rician fading channels. Simulation results show that the BER is almost 10(-4), when EbN0=5.4dB and R=0.5 in Rayleigh fading channels.
