Abstract
The effect of particle size of coal dusts on explosion pressure and rise rates of explosion pressure is studied. Three coal dusts are selected to test data. They come from Lingan coal mine of Canada and Datong coal mine of China. By experiment, the influence of particle size on the maximum explosion pressure P(max) and maximum pressure rising rates (dp/dt)(max) of each coal was tested. Result indicated that along with the decrease of particle size of coal dusts, explosion pressure increase at the same concentration. For different concentration of each coal dust, the maximum explosion pressure appear at the concentration of 500 g/m(3). The smaller the particle size of coal dusts is, the more excessive of rise rate of explosion pressure of coal dusts. When concentration of cold dusts is 500 g/m(3), rise rate of explosion pressure of each coal dust is maximal.
