摘要
Aim of this work is to show the use and the behavior of fresh frozen bone (FFB), different from DFDBA, in the treatment of pre-prosthetic, traumatic and oral surgery in patients that did not accept autologous bone harvesting. The FFB is a mineralized, not radiated, only disinfected and deeply frozen (-80 degrees C) homologous bone; the material is certified by regional tissue bank for serological donor healthy and quality, the freezing process assures the BMPs presence and no immunological reject. The absence of harvesting surgical phase permits to reduce the healing period and to perform some operations in local anaesthesia. From November 2003 up today moreover 1736 patients received FFB grafts; 1679 went under operation for pre-prosthetic surgery, 24 for cranio-maxillary traumas and 25 for the filling of wide bone cysts. The clinic-radiological evidences and histological studies confirmed optimal grafts intake without signs of rejection. The 7 years experience showed that FFB can be considered a good alternative to autologous bone in case of pre-prosthetic surgery with immediate implants, orbital floor fractures and filling of wide bone lithic lesions.
