摘要
DescriptionIntracranial benign hypertension is elevated intracranial pressure non associated with tumor, hydrocephalus and crebral veinous thrombosis. Clinically, patients had signs and/or symptoms of elevated ICP, such as headache, pulsatile tinnitus, balance problems, and visual complaints. Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leakage associated with benign intracranial hypertension is rare.Clinical presentationWe report a case of 40 years old woman who presented a spontaneous CSF leak. Clinico-radiological data evocated benign intracranial hypertension. Pressure monitoring confirmed the diagnosis. Ventriculo peritoneal shunting stopped successfully cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaking and clinical symptoms for 16 month follow up.Conclusion Elevated intracranial benign hypertension may cause spontaneous CSF leaking and can be treated by ventriculoperitoneal shunting instead of skull base surgery repair.
