The Investigations On Formation The Nickel Precoats On The Az91d Alloy

The results of investigations applying to electroless deposition of nickel precoats for galvanic coatings obtaining on AZ91D magnesium alloy are presented here. An influence of temperature and bath pH on the nickel coatings quality was investigated. Microscopy techniques and EDS spectroscopy were applied as well as the corrosion studies by potentiodynamic method were carried out for that purpose. On the basis of obtained results, the process parameters, which allow to formation a perpetual nickel coating for potential use as a precoat for galvanic coatings deposited from alkaline baths, were determined.
