Abstract
A field trial was conducted during rainy (kharif) season of 1992-93 and 1993-94 to evaluate the impact of different weed control measures and fertility on growth and productivity of onion (Allium cepa L.). Minimum weed population and dry weight of weeds/m(2) were recorded under pendimethalin @ 1.5 kg a.i./ha and under 75, 30 and 60 kg N, P and K/ha. were applied. However, the higher plant height, leaves/plant, fresh and dry weight of plant (g/plant), bulb diameter, marketable bulb yield and poor percentage of bolting were recorded under weed free plot, followed by pendimethalin at 1.5 kg a.i./ha and at higher fertility N150P40K70.
