The future of graph database applications: An electric utility perspective

摘要
With the development of smart grid, renewable energy, as well as electric vehicle technique, plenty of primary and secondary devices are plugged into the power grid. However, the large amount of data generated by these devices cause problems. Relational databases can hardly deal with large-scale topological data. Therefore, graph database may be a better alternative to relational database. This paper describes graph database application scenarios in electric utilities, including topological search, vulnerability analysis, and enterprise relationship management. Among the scenarios, topological search is our existing study. Despite the lack of systematic implementation, we introduced graph database as a novel database management system into electrical engineering.
