摘要
Triathlon is a relatively young sport that has experienced exponential growth in recent years. Although initially a sport reserved for elite athletes, today the large mass of participants is represented by amateurstriathlete. It is therefore necessary to have a comprehensive and contextual knowledge of these athletes, both for reasons of performance and health. This study aims to know the characteristics of the non-professional triathlete of half and long distance, fundamentally their training habits and competitive experience. A total of 133 athletes completed an online survey focused on socio - demographic information, medical history and lifestyle, history of competitions, and training habits. The results show a lack of training experience to compete in this type of events, as well as the need to incorporate training strategies that improve their athletic performance. Given the great growth and popularity of this type of competitions among non-professional athletes, this information may be important for athletes and coaches.
