摘要
BackgroundThe Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Human Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) are some of the major global health problems, causing a massive epidemic around the world. The ethical approach of HIV/AIDS pathology has been complicated not only because of the alarming number of cases, but also because of stigmatizing and discriminatory attitudes towards HIV-positive people.Material and MethodsIn this context, we conducted a study on the satisfaction of medical services as well as assessing the degree of discrimination by applying questionnaires to a group of patients among HIV-positive patients registered in the Regional HIV/AIDS Center at the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases from Iasi, between 01 January-30 September 2018.ResultsOf the 1529 patients from Iasi HIV/AIDS Regional Center, 257 HIV-positive patients were questioned, most of them representing the cohort, with average age of 32 years, mostly men, coming from urban areas. As a result of the analysis report on the overall level of patient satisfaction, it was positive in relation to the conditions of hospitalization and the interaction with the medical staff. Reported reasons for the stigmatization of these people were: fear of sickness, of contagion, or even fear of death, and characterized by rejection, denial, discreditation, ignorance and social distancing. At the same time, the degree of discrimination assessed was highlighted in 15% of patients.ConclusionsIt is absolutely necessary to ensure the medical and social comfort of these people, psychological support, adherence to normality, as well as diminishing until the elimination of discrimination.
