A Third Area Of Intervention: The Paradigm Of Narrative Emotion

The article describes the integrating experience between theatrical domain and health service, a language contamination dealt by very different goals and assumptions, as practiced over the last years at Casa dei Risvegli Luca de Nigris in Bologna. Such experience produced the creation of a "brand new receptacle", a third entity, a new intervention area placed in the frame of emotional/expressive workshop. Inputs/proposals, context and therapeutical relation are profiled as specific issues of the setting, those being influenced in turn from more general elements taking part in rehabilitating interventions, i.e. the emotional-engendering and the ecological factors. The expressive-concerned workshop becomes an operating setting on cognitive and communication dynamics, potentially involving various relational registers, with patients bearing different clinical conditions, from vegetative state to reduced and even serious disability. Finally, two cases are drawn, exemplifying the integrated intervention method between health and theatrical techniques.
