Simulation Analysis Of Drag-Reduction Effects Of Aqueous-Base Foam On Heavy Oil Flow With Different Injecting Rates
2011 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER, ELECTRICAL, AND SYSTEMS SCIENCES, AND ENGINEERING (CESSE 2011)(2011)
Abstract
Aqueous-base foam injected into oil flow can reduce the flowing drag and retrench transportation energy. While how much amount of injected foam and injecting rate remain unresolved. Based on computational fluid dynamics, numerical simulation method was present in this paper to analysis the drag-reduction effects of aqueous-base foam on heavy oil flow with different injecting rates. The thickness of boundary layer is different for diverse foam injecting rate. Low injecting rate may lead to thin foam boundary layer, but not necessarily the worst case. Suitable rate ratio of foam and oil should be considered in practical operation.
