Abstract
The attenuation characteristics of traveling wave and different fault conditions are important factors affecting the accuracy of online traveling wave positioning technology. In this paper, ATP-EMTP simulation software is used to build the traveling wave transmission and attenuation model of 10kV distribution network cable. The relationship between traveling wave frequency parameters, time-domain parameters and transmission distance is studied respectively. Finally, the influence of different factors on traveling wave positioning results is analyzed. The results show that the parameters such as the amplitude ratio and the head time ratio of the traveling wave have a quadratic function relationship with the transmission distance. The initial traveling wave head, wave tail time and transmission distance have some influence on the location results, while the fault transition resistance has little effect on the location results.
