Abstract
IntroductionFor many women who have completed their fertility, hysterectomy is an option to eliminate such problems. However, in recent years, the average age of marriage is increasing due to changes occurred in the lifestyle of women. Women with uterine leiomyoma who want to keep the uterus for future pregnancies are increasing. For these women, myomectomy is recommended.Material and methodsThe patient S.E., aged 46 years, was admitted to the Emergency County Hospital, Timisoara with a bulky tumor occupying entirely the pelvis and abdomen.ConclusionsWe presented a case of a giant uterine fibroids which raised problems of differential diagnosis on clinical and ultrasound examination due to the tumor size, the tumor being also associated with hereditary thrombophilia. Management of these cases consists in a proper surgical treatment.
