More On The Upturn Phenomenon In The Strength Of Metals At High Strain Rates
SHOCK COMPRESSION OF CONDENSED MATTER - 2019(2020)
摘要
We present stress-strain curves obtained by a compression Kolsky bar for several metallic specimens, such as pure copper, a tungsten heavy alloy and 304L stainless steel, which were loaded to strain rates in the range of 3000-15000 s(-1). These materials were found, by other workers, to have a sharp upturn in this range of strain rates. In contrast, our data shows no upturns, highlighting the controversy around the upturn phenomenon.
