Fabrication Of Metalized Electrospun Copper Nanofibers

The development of high value added textile fibers have tremendously grown over the last decade. Today, a wide rage of nanoparticles and nano-structures can be immobilized on fibers, which brings new properties to the final clothing product. In this paper, copper particles were immobilized on polyurethane nanofiber films by a novel metalizing method. The polyurethane nanofibers are metalized with different thickness of copper nanolayers (50nm, 100nm) which can be monitored. The resultant samples are characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD). The metalized structures also show excellent electro conductive properties.
