VISTA as a ligand downregulates LPS-mediated inflammation in macrophages and neutrophils

•VISTA is proposed to function both as an immune-modulatory ligand and receptor.•The role of VISTA as a ligand on myeloid cells is largely unstudied.•LPS treatment of macrophages/neutrophils results in their expression of a VISTA receptor.•VISTA.COMP reduces inflammatory cytokines in LPS-stimulated macrophages/neutrophils.•Administering VISTA.COMP in vivo dampens the rise in TNFα levels in a mouse model of endotoxemia.
