Abstract
-BPD/DS is considered to have high perioperative morbidity and mortality compared to RYGB.-The study is a propensity-score matched comparison of the perioperative outcomes for these bariatric operations.-BPD/DS does not have higher 30-day morbidity or mortality than RYGB in matched cohorts with large number of patients.-Patients can be counseled that BPD/DS is at least as safe as RYGB in the peri-operative period.
