Randomized controlled trial of online interventions for co-occurring depression and hazardous alcohol consumption: Primary outcome results

•Advertised for people with persistent low mood and then selected those who also reported hazardous alcohol consumption.•Providing the alcohol brief intervention in addition to MoodGYM did not appear to impact levels of alcohol consumption.•Provision of the alcohol brief interventions did not result in changes in the experience of depression symptoms.
