摘要
Communication is the most important thing for aviation security, remotes incidents that happened in the aviation industry are based on low accuracy on tracking airplanes. The Next Generation Transportation plan intends to transform the aviation industry increasing high accuracy and safety. To avoid this issue, this paper gives an overview of radar and the modern communication implemented by the Federal Aviation Administration; Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and compares their performance. Following the analyzes, the benefits of the transition from Radar towards ADS-B technology are demonstrated, not only to prevent incidents but also to provide updates during the fight, and avoid mid-air collisions. The method MST processing is used to fuses multiples sensors to generate the most accurate surveillance image. Our research analyzes an important incident that happens on 8 March 2014 when Malaysia Airline Flight MH370 disappeared from the controller’s radar screen; the incident is pointed in this paper to better understand why the use of ADS-B was mandatory by the FAA to airlines that intend to flight over transoceanic since January 2020.
