Evaluating a spatiotemporal shape-matching model for the generation of synthetic high spatiotemporal resolution time series of multiple satellite data

•Spatiotemporal Shape-Matching Model (SSMM) is robust in fusing multiple time series.•SSMM is applicable across various levels of spatial heterogeneity and land cover types.•Synthetic EVI2 time series at 30 m is generated using HLS and VIIRS temporal shapes.•SSMM has advantages over current spatiotemporal fusion methods.
