Abstract
The paper deals with the experimental study of a new prefabricated structure ("palificata loricata") for the support of unstable soil. The structure is made of a steel frame, completely filled with soil, with a face made of wood trunks among which cuttings or autochthonous bushes are planted. Because of the difficulties to interpret the complex interaction between soil and structure during the installation and the working life, an experimental in situ campaign has been performed in order to determine the state of stress in the steel frame and understand the global behavior of the entire structure under usual loads.
