COVID-19 lockdown impacts the wellbeing of parents with infants on a Dutch neonatal intensive care unit

•Parents of infants at a NICU during COVID-19 lockdown feel additional stress•This mainly resulted from not being with the infant together with the partner•Not allowing siblings and others to visit the NICU was also considered stressful•Hospital management should be critical on restricting the presence of families•Visitation restrictions should be scaled back whenever possible
