Evaluation Method of Gait Motion of a Patient Received Total Knee Arthroplasty Using Correlation Between Measurement Data and Evaluation Score

It is important to evaluate a gait motion in a walking rehabilitation using the simple method. This paper describes the relation between the measurement of the gait motion of the patient received Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) and the evaluation score by the physical therapist based of the implicit knowledge. And the evaluation method using the correlation coefficient is proposed newly. The evaluation score by the physical therapist is recorded using the check sheet, and the gait motion of the patient is measured using our developed three-dimensional measurement system. The correlation coefficient between the measurement data and the evaluation score is calculated. We confirm that the multiplication between the measurement data and the correlation coefficient is useful to evaluation of the condition of the gait motion.
