Radar One-Dimensional Range Profile Dynamic Jamming Based on Programmable Metasurface

In this letter, a wideband programmable metasurface, which consists of 20 x 20 1 b reflection unit cells, is designed and fabricated to perform radar one-dimensional range profile (ODRP) dynamic jamming. The quasi-butterfly reflection element soldering p-i-n diode is proposed to realize reflection phase difference of 170 degrees +/- 10 degrees between the on and off states over the whole X-band. The unified control of the whole column diodes is developed to simplify the code control feeding network on the same layer for easy process. The radar ODRP is tested and it is verified that the ODRP of the proposed metasurface is dynamically adjustable in the range of 20 dB in real time over the X-band, fully proving the great potential application in the radar jamming, deception, and anti-identification.
