摘要
•Developed a multiscale, multicellular spatiotemporal model of influenza infection and immune response.•Model is partially generated from a calibrated non-spatial model of infection, damage, recovery and innate and adaptive responses during influenza infection.•Developed models of cell migration that generate agreement between the spatial and original non-spatial models under certain conditions.•Spatially homogeneous exposure conditions generate far less severe infection, suggesting a prominent role of localization of exposure in influenza A infection.
