A novel detection algorithm for radar signal under non-Gaussian clutter.

Radar signal detection has important applications in cognitive radio. Previous investigations on pulse radar signal detection only considered Gaussian noise. In this paper, a novel detection algorithm is proposed for the time sparsity of pulse radar signals. The proposed detection algorithm combines the sliding window approach with signal detector based on fractional lower order moment. Simulation results show that the proposed detection algorithm can effectively determine whether the pulse radar signal exists or not in the presence of non-Gaussian clutter.
