•Information about Platyrrhine IgG subclasses molecular characterisation is scarce.•A conserved IGHG genetic organisation (exon - intron) between NWM and OWM was found.•The amount of Catarrhine and Platyrrhine immunoglobulin G isotypes is different.•2–3 IGHG gene variants in parvorder Platyrrhine were identified.
