摘要
The ingestion of foreign bodies is the second cause of endoscopic emergencies in adults in our hospitals, with dental prostheses being one of the most frequent foreign bodies. The risk varies considerably depending on its characteristics and where it is lodged. However, we should never trivialize the situation since there is always a risk of perforation or less frequent obstruction or hemorrhage. According to clinical guidelines, blunt foreign bodies with an elongated shape smaller than 5 cm can be treated conservatively, although these general rules are not always applicable to patients with known pathology that makes their expulsion difficult.
