Compartment syndrome following intramuscular self-injection of kerosene and rodenticide: A case report

•Injection with kerosene mixed with rodenticide has not been documented in medical literature.•Clinicians should anticipate local and systemic complications of injected poison.•Treat compartment syndrome with fasciotomy, repeated debridement, and supportive measures.•Early surgical intervention is life-saving, and leads to limb salvage.
