Cord blood transplantation (CBT) has major limitations, including delayed hematopoietic recovery and a higher incidence of graft failure in adult patients. The necessary conditioning intensity depends on the graft source, and higher-intensity conditioning regimens can provide sufficient immunosuppression to prevent graft failure.
