摘要
Best practices for undergraduate nursing education prompted the redesign of a pathophysiology course. Active learning is not new, but there may be delays in its adoption in large didactic courses. Considering diverse learning styles and needs, engaging activities were implemented to facilitate learning in an online pathophysiology course in a large academic health sciences center. Specific examples of active learning strategies are offered including case studies, table of abnormal conditions, short reports on evidence-based practice, group work, and peer learning. This pedagogical shift can facilitate conversations toward better nursing education as we respond to increased demands for optimal virtual learning.
