Abstract
Two new homosioflavonoids, ophiopogonanone I (1) and methylophiopogonanone C (2) were isolated from the tuberous roots of Ophiopogon japonicus. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses. The absolute configuration of compounds 1 and 2 were assigned on the basis of CD method. In addition, compounds 1-2 were tested for their cytotoxic activities against HL-60, SMMC-7721, and MCF-7 human cancer cell lines, and compound 2 showed significant cytotoxic activity against HL-60 cell line with IC50 value of 14.42 mu M.
