Optimization of process parameters for turning machine using Taguchi super ranking method: A case study in valve industry

Abstract
The turning process in a valve industry plays an important role in the production department, which in turn contributes to the profit of the industry. To get the better results from the machining process it is important to know the contribution level of different cutting parameters like speed of spindle, rate of feed and depth of cut to the machine. In this paper, various levels of process parameters can be optimized by using Taguchi-Super Ranking method providing optimum results enhance machine life. From the results obtained feed rate contributes more to the efficiency i.e., if feed rate is more, efficiency will decrease. (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
