Effects of different feeder and floor space allowances on growth performance and welfare aspects in nursery pigs

•Floor and feeder space allowances interacted to affect final pen weight and tail lesions.•In limited floor space, final pen weight is increased with higher feeder spaces.•In restricted feeder space, final pen weight is increased with higher floor spaces.•Increasing feeder space allows reduced tails lesions if floor space is limited.•The reduction in floor or feeder spaces increases the occurrence of ear lesions.
