Measurements of effective actinides neutron capture cross sections in a cadmium-filtered epithermal neutron spectrum

•Uranium, neptunium, plutonium, americium, and curium samples were irradiated in the ATR at INL.•The samples were loaded in a basket containing a 1.1-mm thick cadmium filter.•Effective capture cross sections were inferred from measured isotopic ratios.•Effective capture cross sections were calculated with best-estimate MCNP model of the experiment.•Included in the results are very rarely measured isotopes, i.e., 244Pu, 248Cm, 249Bk, and 250Cf.
