Abstract
•Material of a silver plated saxophone was investigated.•Silver plating process led to Ag-, Zn-, and Cu-carbonates.•A damping peak related to interactions of dislocation with defects appears.•A damping peak which can be related to Zener relaxation and/or solvent grain boundary relaxation was detected.•Temperatures of damping peaks in silver plated brass are higher than in brass without silver due to Ag carbonates.
