Comparison of waste plastics pyrolysis under nitrogen and carbon dioxide atmospheres: A thermogravimetric and kinetic study

•Thermogravimetric analysis of individual plastics and mixed plastics under N2, CO2 and mixture of N2/CO2 atmospheres.•Kinetic parameter for all samples were identified by using modified Coats-Redfern technique.•CO2 in the reacting gas reduced the amount of residue.•Low activation energy was identified in N2/CO2 atmosphere with a mixture ratio of 7:3.
