Comparing alkene-mediated and formaldehyde-mediated diene formation routes in methanol-to-olefins catalysis in MFI and CHA
Journal of Catalysis(2021)
Abstract
•CH2O-mediated routes are controlled by hydride transfer between CR3–Z and CH3OH.•Hydride transfer between CR3–Z and butene controls alkene disproportionation.•C2+ alkyls derived from MTO products enhance rates of hydride transfer.•During MTO CH2O-mediated routes dominate but depend on CH3OH:C4H8 pressures.
