•Boronate affinity imprinted hydrogel sorbent from biphasic synergistic HIPEs is prepared.•Space-confined formation of imprinted sites in the external phase is realized for specific affinity towards LTL.•Interfacial crosslink reaction of packed micro-inclusion is simultaneously incorporated.•H-UIO-66-NH2-IHIPEs exhibit fast capture kinetics, large uptake amount, excellent selectivity.
