摘要
A differentiated service (DiffServ) architecture is an enabler of implementing distinguished policies, that provides discriminated quality of service (QoS) and enables the IP packet filtering and classification. The generalized processor sharing (GPS) is denoted as a good mean to build up DiffServ architecture and to provide service on demand. Thus, the study on analysing the performance of the GPS scheduling system continues to receive attention. However, the nature of the interacted process of the GPS scheduling system makes its performance analysis a challenging work. To this end, an analytical model is exploited for performance measurement of a general multi-queue GPS scheduling system based on long range dependent(LRD) traffic. This performance model intends to decompose the general multi-queue GPS into Single-Server Single-Queue (SSSQ) systems and derive the statistically equivalent service capacity of each of them to acquire the queue length distribution(QLD). This paper shows that this model can accurately and effectively describe the performance behaviour of a general multi-queue GPS scheduling system.
