Abstract
•Current option for DCO of an open fracture of both bone of the forearm fracture in a polytrauma patient is the external fixation.•The authors present the intramedullary Steinmann pin fixation of the ulna as an option for the DCO in the forearm.•The fixation done through the open wound corrects the alignment and length of the forearm.•It's stable enough to maintain the reduction facilitating the definitive fixation.•No extra procedure is needed and the infection rate is low.
