Abstract
•Sulfides in high-pressure rocks host significant Cu, As, Ag, Cd and Te.•The Pb budget of high-pressure rocks is governed by silicates, not sulfides.•Co, Ni, Zn, Ga and Pb may be lost during lawsonite, epidote and amphibole breakdown.•Ge, Tl, Sn and Mo are largely retained in the eclogitic slab residue.•Co, Ni and As zoning in pyrite record variable degrees of fluid–rock interaction.
